Emergency crews met a JetBlue flight landing in Boston from Cancun on the runway on Friday afternoon after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

The Federal Aviation Administration said JetBlue Flight 772 landed safely at Boston Logan Airport around 5:10 p.m. after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.

“Prior to landing, a smoky smell was detected in the front of the aircraft and our pilots requested assistance from ground crews to check it out,” a written statement from JetBlue said.

The FAA said the plane involved in the incident was an Airbus A321.

Massport said the aircraft landed without incident and taxied to gate under its own power.

“The pilot reported no smoke upon landing and the fire department found no issues,” Massport said.

JetBlue said no injuries or requests for medical assistance were reported.
