Crew of Wideroe flight stops climb and returns for emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin

A Wideroe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration LN-WDT performing flight WF-591 from Bergen to Kristiansand (Norway), was climbing out of Bergen’s runway 17 when the crew stopped the climb at FL220 and decided to return to Bergen due to smoke in the cabin. During the return the crew shut the left hand engine (PW150A) down. The aircraft landed safely back on Bergen’s runway 35 about 30 minutes after departure. Emergency services did not detect any evidence of fire.
