UPDATE #1 @ 2223 UK time – Icelandic media reports that Delta Air Lines flight DL187 London-Los Angeles diverted to Reykjavik due to smoke in the cockpit.

Delta Air Lines flight DL187, which diverted to Reykjavik, is a routine scheduled flight between London and Los Angeles.

The aircraft involved in this incident is N420DX.

As per data from Planespotters.net, N420DX is a 1.4 year old Airbus A330-900neo that was delivered to the airline in December 2022.

Of the A330-900neo variant, Delta Air Lines has 27 in the fleet, of which all are in active service.

Furthermore, average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 2.5 years.

Delta Air Lines flight DL187, which diverted to Reykjavik, departed London Heathrow at 1722 UK time today for Los Angeles.

Everything seemed normal during the Atlantic Crossing before reaching Iceland.

The crew suddenly deviated north and made a quick descent into KEF, landing safely without further incident.
